This is a Coat of Arms for this page. Really, it's more for me. But I made it for this page. Cool, right?
The Red
This shade of red is cherry, one of the official colors of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (the other being white). That's where I go to school (for now).
Inside the red is the bass drum logo of the RPI Pep Band, of which I am a board member for the upcoming semester. Even though I play the trumpet, the bass drum is instantly recognizable to most (but if I ever get the herald banner down I'll replace it with that lol). The band is my life, I've made a lot of friends through and I wouldn't want to spend my weekends anywhere else than with these maniacs.
The Orange and Blue
For the more sports-minded people out there, you might recognize the orange and blue as the colors of the New York Mets. I am on supervised release from having to support the team, as they are currently [LOSING RECORD]. Pain.
Inside the orange is a stylized vinyl record from the logo of WRPI, Radio Rensselaer (as we're legally known). I'm also on the board of this club, serving in a more limited capacity as the Member-At-Large (glorified secretary). I've also made a lot of friends at the station (hard not to with such a spacious and comfortable lounge). I also have a show called "The Drive Home" (may change to Commute or something else eventually), where I play whatever I feel like playing. Read about my odd taste in music here.
The blue contains a hockey stick shooting a puck. Before I got to RPI, I had only seen hockey while channel surfing. Hockey is RPI's only Division 1 sport, so the band is at every game we can get to. I love hockey now. I can't wait for the Engineers (yes that's what RPI's athetics teams are called) to take the ice in October. At some point in the future I'l see if I can shoehorn a baseball bat in here.
